US and Taiwan "Secret" Defence Talks in Alaska Amid Tensions With China | Spotlight | N18G

According to reports, the US and Taiwan held "secret" talks in Alaska, days before China flexed its military muscle in a massive "Victory Day" parade. The meeting in Anchorage was reportedly attended by the Pentagon’s top Indo-Pacific official and Taiwan’s then-deputy national security adviser. The lower-level meeting came after Washington cancelled talks with the Taiwanese defence minister in June, attributing the last-minute change to its airstrikes on Iran.
