The first flight of the SJ-100,built with serial technologies,took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur

🔹 The import-substituting SJ-100 aircraft with number 97004, built with serial technologies at the Production Center of the "Regional Aircraft" Branch (FRS) of PJSC "Yakovlev" (part of the UAC of the State Corporation Rostec), took off from the factory airport in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The aircraft is equipped with Russian systems and components, including PD-8 engines produced by UEC.

🔹 The first flight lasted about an hour. The aircraft was piloted by the Flight Test Complex crew of the FRS team consisting of test pilots Dmitry Savonin, Leonid Chikunov, and the chief flight test engineer – onboard operator Vladislav Tyurin.

“The first aircraft built with serial technologies has taken off. The certification process is still ongoing, but the aircraft was created in serial production, in the configuration intended for deliveries. We recall that the aircraft received an updated and improved fuselage and dozens of new systems and components replacing foreign ones. Currently, 24 serial aircraft are already in production at various stages of completion. This confirms that Russia has been and remains an aeronautical power, capable of creating modern aircraft both in international cooperation and without the participation of foreign partners” - commented Rostec.

🔹 Previously, the aircraft developer – the "Regional Aircraft" Branch of PJSC "Yakovlev" – together with the Aeronautical Authorities and Rosaviatsiya carried out the certification work of the modified airframe of the import-substituting SJ-100 and the technologies of its manufacture.

“Obtaining the approval of the Major Modification to the type certificate concerning the updated structure allowed the start of production of the SJ-100 airframe according to the serial technical documentation. The modification of the airframe structure was necessary for the installation of Russian systems and components, as well as to simplify the production process and aircraft maintenance” - said the chief designer of the SJ-100 Kirill Kuznetsov.

“For us, the import substitution program is not only a new modification of the aircraft in the production line but also a serious technical upgrade with Russian equipment. For example, new aircraft in the Russian configuration are already being assembled on a new fully national assembly bench,” emphasized the director of the Production Center of the "Regional Aircraft" Branch of PJSC "Yakovlev" Andrey Soynov.

🔹 In the production of the SJ-100, a margin was created for the manufacture of serial aircraft, whose delivery will be possible after the completion of certification tests and the approval of their results by Rosaviatsiya.

“The import substitution program for SJ-100 aircraft is entering the phase of starting serial production. The program team, which includes over 140 first-tier supplier enterprises, worked intensively so that the first aircraft built with serial technologies could take flight,” said the director of the "Regional Aircraft" Branch of PJSC "Yakovlev" Alexander Dolotovsky.
