In Jurassic World (2015), one of the most talked-about deaths is Zara’s—the personal assistant who’s suddenly swarmed by a flock of Pteranodons, carried high into the sky, and then dropped into the Mosasaurus lagoon where both the flying reptiles and the giant sea predator finish her off. It’s unusually brutal for a relatively innocent character, which made it stand out.

Actress Katie McGrath, who played Zara, has said in interviews that she specifically requested an over-the-top, memorable death scene rather than a quick one, asking director Colin Trevorrow to give her something audiences would remember. He obliged, creating what became one of the most shocking and debated moments in the entire franchise.
