Part 50: How Victims Can File a DOJ Inclusion Request
According to the DOJ press release on the largest-ever seizure of funds tied to crypto confidence scams (Case BT06182025) 👉 DOJ Source-https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/largest-ever-seizure-funds-related-crypto-confidence-scams
, victims of cryptocurrency fraud can file a Victim Inclusion Request.
A Victim Inclusion Request is a formal email or letter you send to the DOJ Criminal Division’s Victim/Witness Assistance Unit asking to be officially recognized as a victim in a federal case.
This ensures:
Your name is added to the DOJ’s official victim list for that case.
You can receive updates about hearings, seizures, or restitution.
You have rights under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act (CVRA, 18 U.S.C. § 3771).
Where to Look on the DOJ Website
DOJ Office for Victims of Crime (OVC): Victims’ Rights Hub
Case-Specific Notices: DOJ often posts “Victim Information” links at the bottom of press releases for big seizures.
Direct Contact: DOJ Criminal Division’s Victim/Witness Assistance Unit often uses USADC.VictimWitness@usdoj.gov
(Washington, D.C. cases).
Assistant U.S. Attorney: In this case, the DOJ press release lists Rick Blaylock Jr., Asset Forfeiture Coordinator.
If unsure, victims can also call the DOJ main line or use contacts in the official release.
