What Else Do You Need? – Psalm 16

This past Wed. night we were in Acts 4. At the end of the chapter we talked about the mindset of commonality among the thousands of new believers in Jerusalem. We talked about how they all pitched in and took care of one another, freeing up the Apostles to devote themselves to preaching the gospel. Their mindset of commonality also added weight to the gospel message in that it exemplified the selfless love of Christ.

What those new believers understood ties in very well with Psalm 16: when you become a child of God, what else do you need? What else is there? God becomes your spiritual and physical provision. He becomes your life – or at least he should. In Psalm 16, this truth is demonstrated through both David and Jesus.
