Centennial, CO - The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) shared body camera video on Thursday of a raccoon rescue after a woman called dispatch earlier this week to report that the animal had fallen down her chimney.

According to the sheriff’s office, the woman called at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to report the furry intruder. Deputies responded to the scene and said the raccoon was in the corner of the fireplace, “clearly scared.”

“You wanna come out... lil’ fella?” one of the responding ACSO deputies can be heard asking the raccoon in the body cam footage.

The deputies can be seen using a blanket to get the raccoon out of the fireplace and running to relocate it back outside.

“Who needs an exterminator, right?” one of the deputies can be heard musing after the raccoon runs free.

"We’re happy to report the raccoon was not injured and scurried away quickly for a happier life," ACSO said.
