Perhaps the most important person to be fired is Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook. Cook was fired for mortgage fraud and has filed a lawsuit that does not deny mortgage fraud but insists “President Trump’s August 25, 2025, purported firing … is unlawful and void and that Governor Cook remains an active member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.”
