Today we take the time to put into context the September 3rd military parade in China’s Tiananmen Square. During the first major military parade in six years, the nation displayed advances in it long-running military modernization that stunned the world. Many pundits are now saying that advances in China’s weaponry, the precision of its fighting units, and communications capacity signal that the nation has become the unchallengeable rival to the United States. We examine these changes from a distinctly Pan-African point of analysis.
