Hey, welcome to my channel, @ALITTLEBITOFEVERYTHING52! The Joe Camel character made his first appearance in a French Camel cigarette ad campaign in 1974, but he didn’t debut in the U.S. until 1988. That’s when R.J. Reynolds introduced him as part of Camel’s 75th-anniversary “Smooth Character” campaign. This U.S. run lasted nearly a decade, ending in 1997 due to mounting public pressure and legal challenges. Enjoy!
