How to Negotiate a Job Offer

Video 577 Congratulations! You finally got a job offer, so now how do you negotiate this? Well here are the steps to be successful.
1. Never accept the offer over the phone. Start by thanking them for the offer, and telling them you are excited to join the team.
2. Ask them to email you the offer so that you can review it and get back to them.
3. Everything is negotiable at this point. Salary, benefits contribution, PTO, phone/car/internet/computer allowance.
4. I don’t advise asking for over $10-15k over their initial offer.
5. Email them back your negotiation points.
Remember that you never have more leverage than when they are ready to hire you. If you wait until you’re hired you are in a weaker negotiating position.
