The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0.

Fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima. Play as Kazuma Kiryu and discover how he finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Then, step into the silver-toed shoes of Goro Majima and explore his “normal” life as the proprietor of a cabaret club.

Switch between three different fighting styles instantaneously and beat up all manner of goons, thugs, hoodlums, and lowlifes. Take combat up a notch by using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage take-downs.
Fighting is not the only way to kill time in 1988’s Japan: from discos and hostess clubs to classic SEGA arcades, there are tons of distractions to pursue in the richly detailed, neon-lit world.

Chapter 1 - Bound by Oath:

We are introduced to Kazuma Kiryu, a low-ranking member of the Dojima Family, as he collects debts for loan sharks in Kamurocho. After roughing up a debtor and leaving him in the "Empty Lot," Kiryu is shocked to learn the man was later found dead, with the murder pinned on him. Gameplay mixes street brawls and exploration of Kamurocho with story beats that show Kiryu’s loyalty to his sworn brother, Akira Nishikiyama, and his ties to the Kazama Family. Summoned to Dojima HQ, Kiryu faces the three powerful lieutenants—Kuze, Awano, and Shibusawa—who see him as a convenient scapegoat, demanding he betray Kazama to save himself. Refusing to dishonor his oath, Kiryu instead asks to sever ties with the Dojima Family, leading to a brutal one-on-one fight against Daisaku Kuze in the dojo. After defeating Kuze in this dramatic first boss battle, Kiryu formally turns in his oath papers, becoming a man with no family or protection—an outcast left to clear his name on his own. This chapter sets the stage for the conflict around Kamurocho’s empty lot, the heart of a massive real estate power struggle.
