Terence Crawford Explains the Biggest Issue with the Business of Boxing

In a recent interview on the Full Send Podcast, the reporter asked Bud, "What's the biggest issue with the business of boxing that the fans may not know about?"

Terence Crawford discussed the biggest issue with the business of boxing. Crawford said, and I quote, "You just want your fair shake and opportunities. You can be the number one contender, and you'll see other fighters jumping over you."

When you ask the powers that be: When can I get my shot at the title? When I get to the finish line, the powers that be will hold you back. They tell you that you can't get the opportunity to win yet.

The politics is crazy. Or, you'll have a fighter or his promoter tell you they won't fight you because you're on the wrong side of the street. I won't fight you because you don't have enough social media followers, or his name is not that big.

He's a great fighter, but nobody knows him because he's unpopular. The funny thing about Bud's answer is this: I had the same conversation with Bud years ago, and he told me the same thing.

Whether it's Top Rank or the PBC, it's all the same sh*t. Now, the PBC is dead, and Top Rank is on life support. Those PBC and Top Rank tactics hurt them in the long run.

Tank even jumped ship on the PBC for an exhibition fight with Jake Paul on Netflix. In the end, the American promotional companies destroyed themselves with short-term thinking.

Showtime, ESPN, and HBO are gone when it comes to boxing. Turki Alashikh, Dana White, and Jake Paul have taken over the sport in making big fights.
