Where Do Our Laws Get Their Power?

Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia just said “The notion that rights don’t come from laws and don’t come from the government, but come from the Creator … that’s what the Iranian government believes. … So, the statement that our rights do not come from our laws or our governments is extremely troubling.”
Lets take a look at this statement. I will share my own thoughts on this and why. Unless this country allows a full discussion on a topic, where have we come? Unless each person is allowed the right to speak, what nation do we really have?
