Extinguishes the arrows where we stand.

The pilgrim's sandals, fitted for the race,
Are readiness for gospel truth and grace.
To walk in peace, to spread the news abroad,
With every step, reflecting peace with God.

The gladius, short and sharp for close-in fight,
An earthly tool of power and of might.
A final weapon in a soldier's hand,
To conquer foes throughout the Roman land.

The Spirit's Sword, a Word divinely sent,
Is prayer and Scripture, heavenly intent.
With this we fight, with this we stand our ground,
A holy weapon, with a holy sound.
