LR Podcast clip: Natural Rights

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) addressing his fellow senators, repudiated one of the founding principles of the United States, claiming that our rights did not come from God, but from the Government. Those words fell on the wrong ears, Ted Cruz’s, and he pointed out how that sentiment directly contradicted the words and spirit of the Declaration of Independence.

In other words, Tim Kaine’s beliefs about natural rights are literally un-American. That’s not a term to be used lightly or carelessly, but in this case, it fits. Holding this view on rights would seem incompatible with serving as a U.S. senator. How can he, with any integrity, uphold his oath of office? He should resign. He obviously doesn’t get America.
