Here are my thoughts after seeing the film "A Real Pain" (2024), starring Kieran Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg (who also wrote and directed it). It's a poignant portrait of two extreme approaches to the pain of life: unrestrained expression or suppression of emotion. It highlights our utter need for close relationships, demonstrating the consequences of how we deal with emotions on other people.
