Walls

These walls are painted with my pain,
They hear the thunder, they feel the rain.
Every word I never said,
Is carved in stone inside my head.

I thought they’d keep the world away,
But they just make the nights turn gray.
I’m reaching out but no one sees,
The cage I built surrounding me.

Walls, they rise, they tower tall,
Hiding my voice, silencing my call.
Every brick is a broken dream,
Every crack shows what I mean.
Walls, oh walls, you guard my soul,
But you’ve taken control.

Echoes linger, they never fade,
Memories locked where light won’t stay.
I see the sky but not the stars,
These prison lines are iron bars.

If I break them down, will I be free?
Or just another part of me?
Afraid to fall, afraid to fight,
Afraid to step into the light.

Walls, they rise, they tower tall,
But tonight I’ll tear them all.
Every stone will crash away,
I’ll find the dawn, I’ll find the day.
