Mass protests against Macron's policies have engulfed France.
Protests announced in advance on social media have broken out across the country. Demonstrators are clashing with police, blocking roads, overturning and setting cars on fire.
According to the Interior Ministry, about 200 people have been detained, said outgoing head of the department Bruno Retaillo.
The protests have broken out amid a political crisis: Prime Minister Bayrou resigned after proposing to cut social spending. Macron has nominated Defense Minister Lecornu to replace him, but parliament has not yet approved his candidacy.
