Generic hip hop artist - Recursive Democracy

We’re told we’re free, but the system’s a cage,
Votes cast on paper, but the money sets the stage.
Activists shout, protest in the street,
But the wheel keeps turning, same cycle on repeat.

Solutions get silenced if they cut too deep,
Sell-out’s not a choice, it’s the price just to eat.
NGOs, brands, even movements for change,
Locked in survival, they all play the same game.

Recursive democracy, voices intertwined,
Adaptive like the body, collective in design.
No leaders at the top, no profit in between,
The people are the system — not a cog in the machine.

They tell you “earn your life,” but the lie runs thin,
Every phone in your hand took a thousand minds to spin.
Edison, Tesla — not alone in their spark,
Knowledge is a river, not a trademark.

Automation rises, but the people still toil,
Market locks the gate, keeps the fruit from the soil.
Efficiency’s a threat, so they turn it around,
Make abundance a crime while we’re chained to the ground.

Recursive democracy, voices intertwined,
Adaptive like the body, collective in design.
No leaders at the top, no profit in between,
The people are the system — not a cog in the machine.

Not about more stuff, not the Joneses’ chase,
Quality of life is a different space.
Simplicity, balance, more with less,
That’s the only measure of true success.

So build it step by step, a parallel way,
Culture has to grow, can’t flip in a day.
But if meaning’s the question, the answer is clear:
We fight for the future, for all life here.

Recursive democracy — the dream we defend,
The circle of the people, beginning to end.
