I looked around for a screen protector for my new A16 iPad and this one seemed to fit the bill for both the number of favourable reviews and the budget price - currently at just £10.79 after discounts.
The protective screen is made from 0.3mm thick 9H Tempered Glass and is fully transparent and smooth. The iPad touch screen remains responsive, looks great and works perfectly with the Apple USB-C pencil and with my own MIXOOstylus pen.
In the rather surprisingly upmarket box I received two protective screens, two fitting kits, a screen alignment frame, and a well written but rather poorly printed user guide. Everything was nicely presented and seems well made. The fitting kits contained wet and dry cleaning pads and sticky pad to remove dust and marks from the iPad screen before fitting. The alignment frame is made from lightweight plastic but is robust enough to get the job done.
Fitting is as easy as possible. Remove the iPad from any case it may be in and then lower the plastic frame onto the iPad screen, pushing down if needed until it clicks in place. It may be easier to support the iPad on a book or similar object so you can get your fingers under it and to ensure the frame sits cleanly around the iPad screen. Then use the cleaning kit to remove any dust, lint or marks from the iPad screen. The kit is clearly numbered to ensure you use the cleaning pads in the correct order. Then align the front of the protective screen against the front of the frame and gently lower it onto the iPad screen, unpeeling the plastic skin from the screen protector as you do so, using the tab provided. This is easier to perform than to describe and should work the first time. You can pull the protective screen back if necessary during this process to remove any air bubbles. When the job is done you can force out any remaining bubbles by working them to the edge of the screen with your fingers. Any small bubble that may remain may well just dissipate over time and in any case will not be visible when the iPad screen is turned on.
That is all there is to it. After several months of use, the protective screen is unmarked, free from bubbles and showing no sign of parting company with the iPad screen below.
