On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah, during an outdoor event called the "American Comeback Tour." The incident occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. MDT while Kirk was speaking at a "Prove Me Wrong" table, engaging with a crowd of about 3,000 people. A single gunshot, believed to have been fired from a sniper rifle from the roof of the nearby Losee Center (100-200 yards away), struck Kirk in the neck, causing him to collapse. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The shooting is described as a targeted attack, possibly a political assassination, though the motive remains unknown.
