Witness Says Liberals in the Crowd Were CHEERING After Charlie Kirk Was Shot

Orem, Utah, September 10, 2025 — A young woman who witnessed the assassination of Charlie Kirk has released a video describing the horrifying scene, including claims that leftists in the crowd openly cheered after the conservative leader was fatally shot.

Kirk, 31, husband to Erika and father of two young children, was shot in the neck on Wednesday while addressing students at a Turning Point USA event on the campus of Utah Valley University. He was rushed to the hospital but later died from his wounds.

“I just witnessed Charlie Kirk get assassinated,” the shaken witness said in a tearful video. “It was the most awful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. They shot him in the neck and blood went everywhere.”

She went on to describe the reaction of some in attendance: “The worst part of it all was that the liberals who were there were cheering. Take a look at yourself and think, ‘is this who I really want to be?’”

A short clip posted to social media appears to show cheering from a section of the crowd, though authenticity of the footage has not been independently confirmed.

Authorities say two individuals were detained and later released after questioning. The suspected shooter remains at large. Utah Governor Spencer Cox has called the killing a “political assassination.”

From the Oval Office, President Donald Trump delivered a somber address, condemning Kirk’s assassination as a “dark moment for America.” He praised Kirk as a patriot who “devoted his life to open debate,” linking the killing to the rising wave of political violence, including two recent attempts on Trump’s own life.
