New Age

Who knows what the next 5, 10, or 15 years will bring with artificial intelligence, cyborgs, and the technological revolution? It’s hard to predict. Things could change very quickly when people start editing genes, resulting in children who are extremely intelligent and healthy, and who could potentially live for 200 or 300 years.

The old world is still here, but a new world is just starting to emerge, and Gen Z is caught in the middle. They are not mature enough to recognize what is coming. Those who are a bit older can see that a hurricane with a tsunami is on the horizon. There will be massive, massive changes. Everything will change. Gen Z is hooked on the dopamine rush of doomscrolling. Their attention spans are very short. In historical terms, it’s a very short window in which that generation has been caught in between, but they will wake up when jobs disappear.

Social networks as we know them may disappear because artificial intelligence will spam everything with content. There will be videos of people who are not real. There will be lots of text written by ChatGPT and similar apps. The networks will be full of noise. It will be like a car crash when they are hit by the collapse of everything they rely on. Current structures will disappear, causing an existential crisis of a magnitude never before experienced. I don’t know when the last time was that humanity went through something like this.

As the familiar world dissolves, people will be forced to find a way to cope with a lack of meaning. "How to survive? How to live? What to do? Why? Why?" This is why a whole new wave of spirituality will emerge - a revival of sorts, a new New Age. People will demand direct experience. They may not want to follow the old religious traditions, but spirituality will still have its place.
