Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University during an open-air "Prove Me Wrong" debate, in what Utah Governor Spencer Cox described as a "political assassination." The 31-year-old was struck in the neck by a single bullet fired from a rooftop, with the shooter, described as college-aged, still at large as of September 11, despite a recovered high-powered bolt-action rifle bearing transgender and antifascist markings.
