Released in 1972 on Babe Ruth’s debut album First Base (recorded at Abbey Road Studios).
Written by guitarist Alan Shacklock and produced by Shacklock and Nick Mobbs.
Features powerful vocals by Janita (Jenny) Haan, funky basslines, driving drums, and a notable interpolation of Ennio Morricone’s "Per qualche dollaro in più" (from the 1965 film For a Few Dollars More).
The song is a progressive rock/funk blend with a Western theme, lyrically inspired as a retort to the 1960 John Wayne film The Alamo, which portrayed Mexican troops inaccurately. It tells the story of Chico Fernandez, a Mexican soldier facing the Battle of the Alamo, with themes of conflict and longing
