Cockadoodledon't is the third studio album. The Houston Press categorized Cockadoodledon't as an "atomic psychobilly album". According to PopMatters, the style of Cockadoodledon't is defined by the Legendary Shack Shakers' detours from the album's overall sound,[4] which The Cleveland Scene said sounded like "if Tom Waits, Southern Culture on the Skids, and the brain trust behind Ren and Stimpy holed up in Johnny Cash's country cabin with an ample supply of beef jerky and moonshine".

In No Such Thing, lead singer Shack Shaker JD Wilkes sings about all the things that couldn't possibly be real, some logical (a three-dollar bill), and others downright downtrodden (The last ray of hope beatin' down on me).

Wilkes refers to No Such Thing as "the anthem of nihilism." The song, he says, was about a girl: his version of "Nobody loves me. Maybe I'll go eat worms." (Here's our full interview with JD Wilkes.)

JD Wilkes feels that the band recorded the song too fast. When they perform it live, they slow it down.

Pandelirium is the fifth studio album. It is the second album in the band's "Tentshow Trilogy", which began with Believe (2004) and concluded with Swampblood (2007).

Exclaim! wrote that Pandelirium evokes "an atmosphere of Screamin' Jay Hawkins with more of a sense of humour and a touch more psychobilly goth than overt voodoo creepiness."

The A.V. Club wrote that "The Shack*Shakers underline and punctuate almost every song on Pandelirium to emphasize their dissociation from the Bloodshot/No Depression scene—it's far more Gogol Bordello than Uncle Tupelo."
