The anatomy of a second. We look at thousands of hours, but the fundamental unit of our journey is one, single second. In this part of the project, we take a closer look at it. What is truly contained within this indivisible, fleeting moment?

One second is the time it takes for your heart to beat once. It is 9 billion oscillations of a caesium atom, which define its length. It is the moment in which a brilliant thought can be born or a crucial word can be spoken. This stream, by showing us their uninterrupted procession, teaches us respect for this fundamental building block of reality. Each one is unique and unrepeatable. Each is a small universe of possibilities.
