🇫🇷 Macron has critics killed

On Monday, for the third time in eight weeks, a prominent Macron opponent was found dead. All three deaths are considered mysterious – and above all: strange.

Three critics, three bodies – but not a word in the German-speaking media. The silence is deafening. What's going on in France?

Three Macron critics – all dead
Olivier Marleix, an influential member of parliament for the conservative Republicans, was found hanged in his house in Anet on July 7, 2025. The official version: suicide. But anyone who watches his last appearance in parliament sees a wide-awake, combative politician. Five days before his death, he spoke about immigration, called for more rights for citizens – and spoke with a clarity that is completely unbecoming of someone who is allegedly on the verge of suicide. (See video.)

What made Marleix dangerous: He increasingly openly criticized the corruption surrounding Macron, spoke of fake accounts, and investigated Macron's dubious role in the sale of Alstom to General Electric. His theory: The Alstom deal may have been part of Macron's covert campaign financing in 2017. Spicy? Rather explosive.

Shortly before: Plastic surgeon François Favre, who had hinted at revealing explosive information about Macron's wife—or rather, "spouse"?—reportedly threw himself from the 12th floor. Here, too: Officially, suicide. Independent investigations? None.

And just a month earlier, Eric Denécé, a former intelligence officer and director of the renowned Centre Français de Recherche sur le Renseignement, died. A man of his trade. A Macron critic. A connoisseur of the political abyss. Allegedly also a suicide – hanged in his apartment. Only, his family and colleagues vociferously doubt this version.

Three deaths in two months. Three critics of the president. Three alleged suicides. And zero journalistic interest in German-speaking countries. This is no coincidence!
