When Sam goes after the Barlow Gang, the villagers believe he inadvertently shoots himself in the leg. When they learn, he is embarrassed, but they still have faith in him as their marshal.

When Elvira leaves home after he brings her a horse because she is dissatisfied with her way of life, Sam is perplexed. He needs to figure out how to make her happy when she gets back home.

Sam finds out that a man he had detained has gotten away and is most likely headed to retrieve him. Thus, he and the others are unsure of how he will accomplish this. Additionally, Frog notes that a woman who recently arrived in the town seems to know the area better than someone who has been there for a long time. Sam requests that Tillman go speak with her, but they are unaware that she is actually the man in disguise.

Sam has arrived in town. Elvira was engaged to a man, but he was shot during the war, so she married him instead. Declaring his desire for her, he plans to ask her to accompany him. The group warns Sam against it. Still, he lets her leave. Then Tillman puts the bear on the wall and tells him that he may spy on them if he wants to.

Sam captures a female criminal. She must be brought in for trial by Sam. Additionally, Elvira feels uneasy due to her appealing appearance. It's difficult for anyone to accept that she outwitted Sam after she later makes her getaway and tells them what transpired. especially after she returns and claims that he is to blame.

Sam tells Big John Fletcher to stop his son from bullying Daniel after confronting the boy's father. But in the end, the two engage in a prearranged boxing contest.

Daniel, Elvira's stepson, has not yet fully acknowledged her as his mother, which makes her unhappy. They become closer after an accident while they are exploring the outlaw caverns outside of town.

The Calico Kid wants to seek for the position of Marshal at Twin Forks because he needs a stable job and wants to marry his sweetheart, Nora. To get the position, he must, however, complete some coursework and pass the third-grade exam.

Merilee, Amos Skinner's unhappy lover, has been flirting with Frog and intends to kill him. Skinner returns to town to marry her. A fight breaks out in the saloon as a result.

Sam consents to a scheme to deliver $20,000 in a coffin to Silver City in an attempt to outsmart the Dugan Gang. In order to make the scheme work, Frog disguises himself inside the coffin.

After a shotgun wedding, the mountain man father claims that his daughter is now married to 10-year-old Daniel. Sam asks someone for legal guidance.

Tom Hudson wins Laney a date by placing a bid for her at the Copper Creek Box Social. For the big evening of surprises, Elvira and Sam assist her in getting her cabin and herself ready.

When the railroad is deciding between two potential line locations, Copper Creek is one of them. In order to persuade the railroad to pick them, the town must send someone to meet with them. And Sam and Tillman are the ones selected.

After Tillman is accused of rustling, Sam deftly protects him from a lynching mob. A trial is held, but Tillman's witness doesn't help his case, and he is found guilty and swiftly ordered to be executed.

Sam Best, pretending to be Patch Beaudrey, breaks into a robbery den to retrieve proof of Parker Tillman's innocence.

Despite winning the election, Tillman's choice for the new town marshal, Nat Lindsay, turns out to be less than ideal. Tillman needs to be stopped since everyone is impacted.

Elvira's father, a Confederate Colonel who lost contact with her after she wed Sam, a Yankee, pays her a visit. He still doesn't speak to her, though. Sam attempts to mend their relationship.

Upon his arrival, the Calico Kid declares his retirement from outlawing and assumes the position of cook in the saloon. But in order to prevent violence, a strategy is required when a gunslinger challenges him to a gunfight.

A mail-orderbride arrives for Doc. The group discovers that she has more experience than Doc initially believed. Furthermore, she tells the truth at the wedding.

Sam must step in when Sheriff Lattimer arrives with a prisoner and becomes unwell due to an embeddedarrowhead. His eight brothers show up to release him, and he must deal with them.

A Union soldier brings his Southern belle bride to Montana right after the Civil War with the intention of establishing a general shop and transforming a remote area into a bustling community.
