Months after losing the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump, Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has revealed her take on the defeat. Harris has written a memoir called "107 Days", detailing her presidential campaign in excerpts released by The Atlantic. She called it "reckless" for former President Joe Biden to run for a second term in 2024. She also detailed tensions within the White House during her time as a deputy. Harris stated that she was in a difficult position, unable to counsel Biden against running for re-election. Harris wrote that the 81-year-old President got tired during the campaign, and that his physical and verbal stumbles reflected his age. She suggested that Biden’s poor debate performance was linked to his hectic schedule. Harris also discussed taking the blame for aspects of Biden's border immigration policy, which Trump used against the Democrats during the campaign. She also recounted moments when she broke ranks with the administration. In March 2024, she criticised the humanitarian crisis resulting from Israel’s war in Gaza. The former vice president’s memoir is set to be released on September 23.
