NEW YORK, September 12, 2025 — In the second part of his interview with Fox’s Martha MacCallum, Donald Trump Jr. reflected on the personal toll of Charlie Kirk’s assassination and the responsibility of carrying forward his friend’s legacy.

Asked how he talks to his five children about the killing, Trump Jr. admitted the weight of those conversations: “I got the call from my kids before I ever got a chance to call them this time. I’ve had too many of those conversations with my five young kids in the last 14 months. But we don’t stop. We don’t take our ball and go home.”

He recalled the early days of touring college campuses with Kirk, describing moments when police warned them of threats: “Charlie and I both looked at each other and said, I’d rather get my butt kicked than give them the win of silencing us.”

Trump Jr. condemned those celebrating Kirk’s death: “Those people shouldn’t be teaching our young children and indoctrinating them for decades. That’s why we have so many frustrated 20-year-olds with no purpose. This crap has to stop. Charlie talked about these things eloquently and with a smile — that’s why he was so effective.”

He emphasized that Kirk’s influence flipped a generation long targeted by leftist indoctrination: “You see that plus-11 youth shift in the 2024 election? That was Charlie. That was my father. That was me. Together, we changed political history.”

Reflecting on the moment when Vice President J.D. Vance accompanied Charlie Kirk’s casket back to Arizona alongside his widow Erica, Trump Jr. grew emotional: “I don’t do the soft stuff so well, but I’ve definitely had my share of rough hours in the last two days. This is someone I spoke to every day for the last decade, multiple times a day. A true leader, a great family man, a great father of two young children who accomplished more at 31 than most people would in multiple lifetimes.”

Trump Jr. closed with a vow to keep Kirk’s work alive: “We honor his legacy by staying engaged, making sure our voices are heard, and ensuring everything he stood for is never forgotten.”
