The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0.

Fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima. Play as Kazuma Kiryu and discover how he finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Then, step into the silver-toed shoes of Goro Majima and explore his “normal” life as the proprietor of a cabaret club.

Switch between three different fighting styles instantaneously and beat up all manner of goons, thugs, hoodlums, and lowlifes. Take combat up a notch by using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage take-downs.
Fighting is not the only way to kill time in 1988’s Japan: from discos and hostess clubs to classic SEGA arcades, there are tons of distractions to pursue in the richly detailed, neon-lit world.

Chapter 4 - Proof of Resolve:

The chapter opens with a flash-back: three years prior, Majima is stabbed in the eye and restrained by the Shimano family while Saejima acts alone in a hit, setting up Majima’s current “gilded cage” situation in Sotenbori. Woken from his daydream, Majima is summoned by Sagawa and given an order: kill Makoto Makimura, who supposedly recruits girls into exploitative telephone clubs. Gameplay has Majima investigating telephone clubs, talking to nightclub hostesses (including Akko), doing date-style outings (sushi, arcade, disco), and unlocking the Breaker Style combat style. The plot twist: Makoto isn’t who she appears to be—there’s a blind woman pretending to be her, and the real Makoto is kidnapped; Majima must chase after her and rescue her while avoiding harm to her as she follows him. The chapter ends with Majima escorting the victim to safety, hiding her from pursuers, and making good on Sagawa’s task—though deeply unsettled by the truth behind the facade.

Chapter 5 - An Honest Living:

After the drama with Makoto, Kiryu steps back in and focuses on his new life: he needs proper clothing for his job at Tachibana Real Estate, so he shops in Kamurocho and reconnects with Oda. Along the way, new substories unlock, and Kiryu gets introduced to the Real Estate Royale mechanic—buying properties, collecting rent, generating income. There’s a key mission segment involving negotiating with squatters in the Sugita Building and resolving conflict with locals to legitimize one of his new investments. As usual, fights break out—Awano’s goons appear and Kiryu is forced to use his combat skills to protect his interests. By the end, Kiryu is firmly stepping into a dual life: businessman-real estate mogul by day, street fighter by night.

Substories:

Be My Boyfriend! - Majima pretends to be a shy girl’s boyfriend to impress her friends, leading to a series of awkward and hilarious dialogue choices. It’s a lighthearted break from the main story and rewards Majima with items and completion progress.

Areshi’s Training (Ongoing) - Areshi offers Majima Breaker Style training which is a spin on breakdancing. The mastery of the style while providing cash and rewards.
