For 5 years, politicians and media have dehumanized anyone who dared to disagree — calling people racists, Nazis, extremists, even “problems to be tolerated.”

That kind of rhetoric incites violence. We’ve already seen the consequences worldwide, and now right here in Pickering.

When a video about threats of murder and rape surfaced, Mayor Kevin Ashe didn’t condemn it — he mocked it.

He put a target on my back and told the public that if harm comes to me, it’s my fault.
