South Africa’s Asset Forfeiture Unit has seized R325 million in assets, including luxury homes, Lamborghinis, a Bentley, and a boat, from Hangwani Morgan Maumela, a businessman linked to President Cyril Ramaphosa and associate of Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala. The seizure follows whistleblower Babita Deokaran’s exposé of massive corruption at Tembisa Hospital, where Maumela’s syndicate allegedly pocketed over R400 million. Deokaran was assassinated in 2021, shot 12 times, sparking outrage and intensified investigations.
