[Week 5 10/10/2025] Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. Week 5 of the 48th season, of the GE Friday Night Football League! (Note for those who are new and don't know: the "GE" part of the name is just where this league originated from and has nothing to do with the actual company itself.) With that out of the way, let's get this game started!! It was another nice night for a game of football, and we had enough players enough players to have an 8 vs 8 game with one player rotating out on the Blue Team. Until about the 4th quarter when one player on the Red Team had to leave and one player from the Blue Team got traded midgame to the Red Team. The Blue Team started with the ball and was quick to put points on the board with a deep touchdown pass from Tyler to Greg. After trading interceptions on the next two drives. the Blue Team finally puts up their first points of the game with a touchdown pass from Nick to Omar. From this point there was a long back and forth on one side of the field, along with a contested pass from Dave D. to Nick. (It was ruled out during game time and from the camera angle it's hard to tell whether he was actually in or not) Since this was ruled not a touchdown then the back and forth between the Red Teams and the Blue Teams defenses continues, until the Red Team finally puts up their second score of the night. With a touchdown pass from Chris to Brayden. From this point the Red Team pretty much started to dominate the field putting up two more touchdowns and one pick six, before final touchdown was called and the Blue Team was finally able to score their last touchdown of the night. [Week 4 10/3/2025] Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. We are halfway through the regular season of the 48th season of the GE Friday Night Football League! (Note for those who are new and don't know: the "GE" part of the name is just where this league originated from and has nothing to do with the actual company itself.) With that out of the way, let's get this game started!! The weather was perfect for another night of football. We had enough players to start off with a 6 vs. 6 game, eventually going to a 7 vs. 7 game when a young 15-year-old wanted to come play with us. We told him he needed his parents' permission first before playing with us, for liability issues. The Red Team started off with the ball and was quick to put up points with a good drive and touchdown pass from Tony to Zach. This was followed by an interception by Kyle W., who then threw another touchdown pass to Zach. The Blue Team managed to get their first touchdown with a pass from Jeremy to Kyle K., and from this point the game became pretty evenly matched. The Blue Team tied up the game 3 to 3 with a touchdown pass from Nick to Greg. Both teams then started trading touchdowns, with the Blue Team scoring first off of an interception. This was followed by the Red Team scoring on the next drive with a pass from Kyle W. to Rookie Brayden. Then the Red Team managed to stop the Blue Team's next drive on the 2-yard line. The Red Team drove back down the field with an impressive drive by Paul (who was playing with a dislocated finger on his throwing hand at this point) and managed to drive back down the field with some good blitz blocking by Alex. Paul then found Zach in the end zone for another touchdown, taking the lead once again. After a little back and forth, the Blue Team managed to tie up the game once again with a touchdown pass from Nick to Omar. Not too long after, the final touchdown was called. The Red Team had the ball, drove down the field, and Tony and Kyle W. elected to try to kick a field goal. (There aren't any rules against this in our league; however, we usually don't have any players who want to try it. Field goals count for 1/2 a point.) We unfortunately did not catch this on film, though. The snap went to Tony, who held the ball for Kyle W. to kick, and it went right down the middle of the goal posts, winning the Red Team the game. [Week 3 9/27/2025] Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the 48th season of the GE Friday Night Football League! With that out of the way, let's get this game started! It was a bit overcast, with a slight breeze keeping the mosquitoes away. This was definitely the biggest game of the year so far, with enough players to start off with a 9 vs. 9 game and one person rotating on the Red Team. It eventually went to a full 10 vs. 10 game toward the fourth quarter once our oldest player, Gary (who is 70), showed up to play. The Red Team started off with the ball and made a good drive down the field, but they were stopped around the 2-yard line. The Blue Team then made a quick strike back downfield with a pass from Dave to Nick, scoring the first touchdown of the night. The Red Team answered that touchdown with a long drive and a touchdown pass from Tony to Tyler. Unfortunately, this was their first and only touchdown of the night, because the Blue Team continued to dominate the field for the rest of the night—with an impressive drive by Paul ending with a pass to Nick, who used one hand to scoop that ball in for their second touchdown. The Blue Team continued to dominate the field, not letting the Red Team score anything despite the Red Team's attempts to score. Even our new rookie player, Dillon, who drove 2 hours to come play, had an impressive drive, with one deep pass to Jose and then scoring a touchdown off of a double-tipped endzone play into the hands of Austin. [Week 2 9/19/2025] Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the 48th season of the GE Friday Night Football League! With that out of the way, let's get this game started! We started the game under overcast skies, with enough players to begin a 6 vs. 6 matchup. We switched to 8 vs. 8 once a couple more players showed up around the second quarter. The teams were pretty evenly matched throughout the game. The Red Team was the first to score, with a touchdown pass from Todd to Omar. The Blue Team scored their first touchdown on the next drive, with a touchdown pass from Tyler to Kyle. The Red Team was quick to put up two more touchdowns, taking the lead before we switched from 6 vs. 6 to an 8 vs. 8 game. With a lot more players on the field, the Blue Team managed to put together another touchdown drive, finishing it off with a touchdown pass from Tony to Tyler. The Blue Team's defense managed to stop the Red Team's next drive at midfield and then put up another touchdown with a pass from Greg to Kyle, tying the game at 3-3. From this point, there was a bit of a back-and-forth battle between the Red Team's and Blue Team's defenses. It was so intense that a buck and two does came by to check out the show right around halftime. The battle raged on through the third quarter until finally the Red Team was able to put up another touchdown with a pass from Chris to Todd. The Red Team then pinned the Blue Team at their 1-yard line, with Johan sacking the Blue Team's QB once and then deflecting another pass. The Red Team then got the ball back on the 1-yard line and put up another touchdown from Ben to Johan. (This might have been a career game for Johan.) The Blue Team then made one last drive back down the field for the final touchdown of the night, with a touchdown pass from Tony to Rylan.
