Helldivers II is a cooperative, third-person shooter where up to four players act as elite soldiers, Helldivers, defending the planet Super Earth from alien threats like bugs and robots in a galaxy-spanning war. Players use a variety of weapons and can call in orbital stratagems, like airstrikes and turrets, to aid in chaotic, often comedic, battles against overwhelming enemy hordes. The gameplay emphasizes teamwork, as friendly fire is always on, and missions involve completing objectives on alien planets before extracting, with success and failure often leading to hilarious and intense moments.
