China To Send 'World's First Mosquito DRONE Army' Inside INDIA's Border?

China’s National University of Defense Technology in Hunan has revealed what it calls the world’s first mosquito‑sized drones.

A student named Liang Hexiang held one between his fingers, about 0.3-1.3 cm long, with leaf‑like flapping wings and hair‑thin legs, and said it’s meant for information gathering and special battlefield missions.

The drones blend extreme miniaturization of power systems, sensors, and control circuits into a tiny, insect‑like frame—a significant engineering challenge.

Similar micro‑UAVs exist elsewhere—Norway’s palm‑sized Black Hornet is widely fielded, and the U.S. is experimenting too.

Such tiny drones could slip into indoor or urban environments without detection, enabling covert surveillance, reconnaissance, or even environmental monitoring.

But their small size limits flight time, payload, and range, so they likely need frequent charging or physical recovery .

China’s mosquito‑like drone is still in the prototype stage and hasn’t been confirmed for operational use. But it highlights a growing global push toward stealthy microrobots—moving from the battlefield to potential civilian applications like search‑and‑rescue or pollution tracking .
