Cascabel Study Targets 123K Tons Copper 277K Ounces Gold and 794K Silver Per Year

SolGold CEO on Unlocking 28-Year Cascabel Copper-Gold Mine With Government Backing and Early Cash Flow Strategy

SolGold is pushing ahead with one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper-gold projects, and CEO Dan Vujcic joins Kitco Mining at the 2025 Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek to outline the next catalysts for the tier-one Cascabel project in Ecuador.

Cascabel hosts 12.4 million tonnes of copper, 31.3 million ounces of gold, and 26.8 million ounces of silver, supported by a 2024 Pre-Feasibility Study that outlines a 28-year mine life. Backed by major players including Franco-Nevada, Zijin, BHP, and Newmont, SolGold is securing strategic and sovereign support.

Vujcic highlights the company’s re-domiciling to Switzerland as a platform to streamline financing and execution, while negotiations are underway to finalize a $4 billion construction Investment Protection Agreement (IPA) with the Ecuadorian government. “Once we have that in hand, it will be a fantastic catalyst for shareholders,” he said.

To accelerate cash flow, SolGold is evaluating an early open-pit development at TAM ahead of the block cave plan, with G Mining leading the feasibility study. Vujcic emphasized that key early works will move forward before the final study is published, citing high economic confidence.
