Play the Original Trilogy before Metroid Prime 4

Hey everyone I was thinking about the next Nintendo game to grab from my backlog and then I saw the new trailer for Metroid Prime 4! The original two "Prime" games came out on Gamecube and the third came out for the Wii, so I'm thinking I should at least try those before I buy the newest game in the franchise. What's your opinion of these older Metroid Prime games and are you looking forward to getting the new one for Switch 2?
