Matthew Session 12

Not feelin' real wordy today- which means I'll probably only end up writing 3 pages :).
I took a few notes while re-watching this. @ around the 18 minute mark Chuck asks-"Did Judas have freewill?"
which also means-
"Do we have freewill?"
Yes, if the Word of God has tuaght anything it is that God always wants us to have - and gives us freewill. If he wanted robots He would've made robots. But robots only comply (or not, depending on how they're programmed), they do not love.
But God stands apart from time. Time is something which pertains to man only. He is the alpha and the omega - the beginning and the end - all at once. He knows it all, has seen it all, and has written it all. "It is done."
It's not an easy thing to wrap one's head around, the concept of freewill when we know the entirety of the book is written.
I know I've said this before, though I don't recall exactly where. I'm really not very original. But I've come to conceive of it like this - and this is all opinion, just my personal way of wrapping MY head around it, and for your consideration in your own walk with The Lord.
Yes, we absolutely have freewill. But I am watching a re-run of a 6,000 year movie which has already happened. Both my choices and everyone else's. I have my will and my choices still, but what I'm really watching is the choices I HAVE MADE, play out. God has written and directed this movie - and I don't even know my next lines - but I am deciding, and acting (well not acting but hopefully you get me) the part I've played.
Now is this FACTUAL? Probably not, there's a billion to the 30th power that it's exactly like this - no. It's just conceptual. Therefore I have liberty over my part in the play. The choices I make. That is how I have come to think of it.
