Shut Down the False Talk

Good morning, Wake Up fam! ☕️ Today it’s Pastor Scot and “Nanny McPhee” (hello, guv’nah 😄) and we’re diving into a timely word from 1 Timothy 6:3–5, a warning about our culture’s “unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words.”

We talk about how outrage content and cut-and-paste clips can twist context, harden hearts, and dehumanize people we’re called to love. We pray for Charlie Kirk’s family, call out the lie that opinions should be punished with violence, and point back to Jesus as our model: slow to speak, rich in love, quick to show grace (see also Proverbs 4:23; James 1:19).

In this episode you’ll hear:

Why judging by actions and full context beats sound-bite hot takes

How language can dehumanize, and how believers can break that cycle

Practical ways to guard your heart and starve the outrage algorithm

A call for unity: Republicans, Democrats, independents, one church, one Savior

Community prayers and shout-outs to our amazing partners 💛

Let’s be a different voice online: assume the best, seek original sources, love boldly, and refuse “evil suspicions.” If this encouraged you, share it with a friend, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for our daily Bible study that brings hope and wisdom to your morning drive.
