Erosion of the First Principle
The consequence of these tactics is profound:
The marketplace of ideas becomes curated by ideology.
Government and cultural institutions define what speech is legitimate.
Free expression is no longer a universal right, but a partisan privilege.
The Founders never intended “hate speech” exceptions or “decorum” carve-outs. They believed liberty required the defense of the unpopular. Once speech becomes conditional, the First Amendment ceases to function as a shield against tyranny.
