San Marcos, Texas — Texas Governor Greg Abbott has demanded that Texas State University immediately expel a student after a video surfaced showing someone mocking Charlie Kirk’s death at a memorial event. In the footage, the person appears to imitate Kirk being shot, spits near other memorial attendees, climbs on a statue, and allegedly uses a vape or weed pen — the last reportedly a violation of campus policy.

The video, widely shared on social media, has sparked outrage. The event was hosted by the Turning Point USA chapter on Texas State’s campus. University President Kelly Damphousse said officials are working to identify who the person is and will take “appropriate action” if they are confirmed to be a student.

Governor Abbott condemned the behavior, saying it “violates the values of Texas State” and called for swift discipline.
