Turning Red Cedar. A fiery Surprise Inside

In this video, I take on a wild, old chunk of red cedar with an end grain orientation—and what a fiery surprise it had inside. 🌲🔥
This piece was bone dry, full of wormholes, cracks, voids, and years of weathered character. From the very first cut, it produced nothing but dust—no shavings, no curls. Just pure cedar powder.

But inside? A stunning blaze of deep red grain and beautiful natural figuring. I kept many of the natural imperfections, embracing the flaws to highlight the piece’s raw, organic beauty.
