I Turned Bloodwood Into a Wand… And Something Strange Happened

’ve done a fair share of turning… but this was my first ever dive into spindle work—and of course, I chose a wand made from dense, unforgiving bloodwood. What could possibly go wrong? 😅

Armed with more YouTube tutorials than actual experience, I gave it my best shot. There were a few rookie mistakes, some wobbly moments, and one or two close calls—but in the end, this wand turned out better than I could’ve hoped. It’s full of character, a little bit of magic, and was made for someone pretty special.

Spindle turning may be humbling, but there’s a certain sorcery in the process.
