Cherry Burl Transformation into a Rustic Showpiece

This cherry burl started as a rugged, character-filled chunk of wood… but this time, I took a different approach. After hearing your feedback on my last burl turning, I decided to fill every void and bark inclusion with Milliput clay epoxy resin. The result? A refined, polished look that still celebrates the incredible colors, figure, and textures that only cherry burl can offer.

From rough and wild to smooth and elegant, this transformation was a joy to turn on the lathe — and I think it might just be one of my favorites yet.
