Ecuador declares state of emergency after protests over diesel cuts

Ecuadorean police used tear gas and riot control tactics on Tuesday (September 16) to disperse protests in Quito as demonstrators opposed the government's elimination of diesel subsidies. President Daniel Noboa declared a state of emergency on Tuesday in seven provinces.
