A gentle alien botanist from another world is accidentally left behind on Earth when his spaceship departs in a hurry after being discovered by government agents. Lost and alone, the alien finds shelter in the suburbs of California, where he is discovered by a lonely 10-year-old boy named Elliott.

Elliott, along with his siblings Michael and Gertie, hides the alien — whom he names E.T. — in their home. The children discover E.T.’s incredible abilities: he can heal wounds, move objects with his mind, and create a psychic bond with Elliott, feeling his emotions and physical experiences.

As E.T. grows weaker from Earth’s atmosphere and the separation from his people, Elliott and his siblings work desperately to help him “phone home.” With household items, E.T. builds a communication device to signal his spaceship. Meanwhile, government agents close in, determined to capture the alien for study.

In a race against time, Elliott and his friends embark on a daring bike chase to get E.T. back to the landing site. Just when capture seems certain, E.T. uses his powers to lift the bikes into the air, flying them to safety — one of the most iconic scenes in cinema history.

At the ship, E.T. shares a heartfelt farewell with Elliott, touching his glowing heart and telling him, “I’ll be right here.” E.T. boards his craft and returns to the stars, leaving Elliott forever changed by their extraordinary friendship.

✨ At its core, E.T. is about loneliness, friendship, and the power of love across worlds — a story that blends wonder, heartbreak, and hope.
