Barrick Mining President and CEO Mark Bristow delivers a major update on the company’s flagship U.S. project in this exclusive interview from Mining Forum Americas 2025 with Kitco Mining. The newly released Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Fourmile deposit in Nevada outlines a 25-year mine life producing up to 750,000 ounces of gold annually, at all-in sustaining costs of just $750 per ounce—anchored by an initial CapEx of $1.7 billion.

Bristow calls Fourmile “a world-class tier one asset in the making,” citing drill results over 100 meters at grades exceeding 100 g/t, with high potential to double the resource base through additional exploration. The deposit is expected to be integrated into Nevada Gold Mines, the Barrick-Newmont joint venture, with an independent market valuation now underway.

Outside the U.S., Bristow highlights the fully funded $6.5 billion Reko Diq project in Balochistan, Pakistan, backed by a syndicate of global lenders. He also outlines Barrick’s renewed focus on permitting and partnerships in Chile and across the Andes, emphasizing that “doing it right” with local communities unlocks long-term value and operating licenses.
