Galatians 3:28 (NIV) says:

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Here’s what it really teaches:

1. Unity in Christ
– Paul emphasizes that in God’s family, human divisions such as ethnicity (Jew or Gentile), social status (slave or free), or gender (male or female) do not determine a person’s worth or access to God.
– Our primary identity is being in Christ, not in our earthly categories.

2. Equal Access to Salvation
– The gospel is for all people without discrimination. No group has a spiritual advantage over another. Faith in Christ is the only condition for being part of God’s covenant family.

3. Not the Erasure of Differences, but the Erasure of Barriers
– Paul isn’t denying that people remain male or female, Jew or Gentile, etc. Rather, he’s saying these differences no longer create divisions in the body of Christ.
– What once separated people socially or religiously no longer separates them spiritually.

4. The Radical Equality of the Gospel
– In the first-century world, where society was deeply divided by ethnicity, slavery, and gender roles, this teaching was revolutionary. Paul declared that in Christ, every believer has the same dignity, value, and inheritance.

👉 In short: Galatians 3:28 teaches that in Christ, all believers are equal members of God’s family. The divisions that once defined people no longer determine their place with God—because our identity and worth come from being united with Christ.
